Two layouts

I am very new to scrapbooking and it does scare me a bit but the paper and embellishments in the Personal Shopper Kits are so well co-ordinated it makes it very easy and I am really pleased with these pages! The first page is of my son and a couple of friends on a school rugby trip to Belgium. I used some of the Friendship paper from the October 2006 Hot Off the Press Kit. The colours are lovely, very clean and fresh. I chose a green patterned 12x12 full sheet for the main page. I cut some strips out of 12x12 green card from the kit and added some torn strips of vellum I took from the Citrus Cardmakers Creative Pack, which can be found in the online store here:http://http://www.croptilyoudrop.co.uk/webshop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=185&products_id=668main_page=product_info&cPath=185&products_id=668 I matted the photos onto green and yellow card from the pack and inked the edges. I made some tabs to put the names onto from co-ordinating paper in the kit and inked the edges. The little blue pocket is also from the kit. I matted it onto the same green card I used for the strips and put a piece of the same co-ordinating paper the tabs were made from across the open edge of the pocket. Inside the pocket is a photo with a tab on it. By sticking down only the outer edges of the sides and bottom of the blue pocket onto the green matting card, I was able make another pocket behind to put a photo into. I hand cut the cut the letters from more co-ordinating paper out of the kit and inked those edges too. I put small brads at either end of the bottom strip of vellum, added one of the larger brads for the dot over the letter 'i' and finally used one of the gorgeous Heidi Swapp buttons as a full stop, all out of the kit.

The second page is my favourite I think. I used the fall papers. I chose two that had the a border of different types of leaves down one edge. The photograph doesn't show up here as well as I would like. It is of a squirrel that appeared on our patio. We grabbed a camera and took the photo but we also got the patio door, the curtains and the patio furniture in the photo!! To disguise the unwanted parts of the photograph I cut the border off one of the 12x12 leaf border sheets to make a frame. I cut it into pieces and arranged them around the photo. I matted it onto orange paper and then some of the green card and inked the edges. I put this onto the other 12x12 border sheet. I drew a leaf shape free hand onto some more of the orange paper and cut it out to use for journalling. I hand cut the letters for Autumn out of a 12x12 sheet of green paper with an all over leaf pattern and once again the orange paper. I cut the last of the leaves from the 12x12 border sheet I used to make the frame and stuck them down the right hand side of the page. Finally I put a leaf brad on the large letter 'a' and the large hand cut leaf.

Hope you like the pages.
